Technological development is advancing day by day and has tremendous impacts on human life. Education institutions in Hong Kong also keep pace with the times in actively promoting STEAM education, which combines education and knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. In recent years, Art has also been incorporated, transforming STEM education into STEAM education. This transformation has brought about changes in traditional education curriculum design, learning activities, teaching aids, and teachers training, aiming to encourage students to study subjects in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, promoting innovation and economic development in Hong Kong.
The Education Bureau and ASTRI jointly organised the "School-based Talent Pool: I&T Education and Experience Sharing on Competition Trainings for STEAM Talents" sharing session, where education and technology leaders shared how innovative technology enhances the quality of urban life as well as educational research programs of ASTRI. Practical application of STEAM education, and the implementation of STEAM education & activities at the school level, providing educators with more practical skills in promoting innovation and technology education were also covered in the sessions.
