Through various technological advancements, we aim to cater to the diverse academic needs of students as well as the emerging trends in pedagogy. Not only the application of these innovative R&D results assists educators and institutions inside and outside the campus, but also enhance the effectiveness and quality of teaching. A privately owned large language model (LLM) that offers controllable content generation, offering aid in class preparation, autonomous learning, intelligent tutoring & assessment.
Text-to-image technology enables students to bring abstract ideas to life for educational and therapeutic purposes.
Nourishing Gifted Minds
Employ techniques to group students by abilities for personalised learning sessions for various learning needs.
Observe students’ attentiveness and alert the teacher when necessary.
Ensure teaching effectiveness and provide class performance statistics for long-term teaching plans.

Enable home learning with emotion tracking & feedback by utilising a centralised learning resource sharing & robot management platform.

Identify learning difficulties (LD) type and the severity level by detecting and analysing visible biological reactions.

About ASTRI
Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; Innovative Mind; and IoT Sensing and AI Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. As of 2023/24, ASTRI has transferred more than 1,500 technologies to the industry and has been granted over 1,100 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
